plants

Plants are organisms that use sunlight to produce carbohydrates. Plants provide many benefits, including producing oxygen, maintaining ecological balance, and producing food and medicine.

Why are plants necessary for life?

Plants are necessary for life to:

Produce oxygen

Absorb carbon dioxide

Produce food (photosynthesis)

Maintain the water cycle

Prevent soil erosion

Provide shade and shelter for living things

Is there an invisible side to plants?

Yes, the side of plants that we cannot see is the underground part (roots). The roots of plants grow in the soil and absorb water and minerals.

The underground part of plants (roots)

The roots of plants are the underground part of the plant. These grow in the soil and absorb the water and minerals that the plant needs.  Main functions of roots:

1. Absorption of water and minerals: The roots absorb water and minerals from the soil and carry them to other parts of the plant.

2. Stabilization of the plant: The roots stabilize the plant in the soil, thus protecting the plant from falling.

3. Storage of nutrients: The roots of some plants store nutrients (e.g., arapola, beet).

4. Production of hormones: The hormones produced by the roots help the plant grow.

Since the roots of plants are not visible, we often forget their importance.

What are the disadvantages of plants if they become scarce?

Disadvantages of plants if they become scarce:

1. Lack of oxygen: Plants produce oxygen through photosynthesis. If plants are scarce, oxygen becomes scarce.

2. Increase in carbon dioxide: Plants absorb carbon dioxide. If plants are scarce, carbon dioxide increases, causing global warming.

3. Disruption of the water cycle: Plants contribute to the water cycle.  If plants are scarce, the water cycle is disrupted.

4. Food shortage for living things: Plants provide food for living things. If plants are scarce, living things become food shortages.

5. Disruption of ecological balance: Plants help maintain ecological balance. If plants are scarce, ecological balance is disrupted.

Works and other artistic creations created about plants ..

There are dramas about plants. Some scholars speculate that the origin of Sanskrit drama is through the conversational hymns in the Rig Veda ¹.
