ME AND DRAMA

I am Tharushi Imalsha. I am a student at the University of Fine Arts. My favorite thing to do in life and my passion is drama and theater. My hope is to continue in that field. My talent was introduced to me by the drama teacher at that school at that time, and I went beyond that and started watching dramas and attending drama workshops. As a result of that, I was invited to appear in a stage play at the Thespian Theater in Kuruwita, Ratnapura. I was mentored and given that opportunity by my teacher, Maduranga Weerasinghe, a former student of the University of Fine Arts. The first stage play I acted in in this life was Chamila Priyanka's Oyai Maai Taaniyama. 


That was three years ago. That was the day that made a strange change in my theatrical life. That was the day that added great value to my life. My partner and I studied the play for days and weeks very deeply and turned it into a performance, and we received a great value from the audience who came to watch us. 



That day, a senior professorial panel from the University of Fine Arts came to watch us. Among the

was Senior Lecturer Indika Ferdinando. The responses we received at the end of our play were very loving.. , professional.. 

The play tells the story of a couple who do not even have an ID.. The girlfriend is very naughty, and she has some conflict with the boyfriend. That day, we realistically ended that play, which flows along different paths.  Our performance spread throughout the Thespian Theatre complex, adding immense pride to the theatre complex. The response we received was so heartwarming.

 In addition to the play we presented that day, several plays were performed. The senior brothers and sisters of the University of Fine Arts themselves performed various plays and they will be as proud of the plays they performed as we are.
