WILL YOU BE REBORN ?
Let us examine whether humans are reborn or not according to the religions prevalent in Sri Lankan society.
When it comes to reincarnation, it is still a myth for modern science. In Buddhism, which is the origin of Judeo-Christian-Muslim beliefs and Hinduism, this is divided into soul and anatma. Simply put, whether a born being is reborn or not is a question of whether a physical part of it is used. That is, the story is used here that there is a soul part of the body, like a new life starting from something like a leaf, and that this is not the case. It is said that both of these views were based on Sinhala knowledge, and that they were lost without knowing what the mind is.
According to Buddhism,
which is the origin of Hinduism, karma (karmic power, karmic dharma) contributes
to rebirth. Karma is created through thoughts in the body, words, and thoughts. Karma creates a rebirth based on the thought that occurs at the moment of death. This bhava is a Hinduization of the word "bhava" which is commonly used in Sinhala, but does not have a meaning on its own. The word karma, which is a Hinduization of the Sinhala words kama and karana, also shows a birth. According to this view, a new life is born as a result of accumulated karma. The thought that arises at the moment of death gives birth to a new life in a suitable form, for example, human life, dog life, cow life. There is no connection between the previous life and the newly born life, but only the accumulation of karma that the previous life built up in the three ways (body, speech, and thoughts) caused the birth of the new life. Here, it is said that it is not I who suffers from the karma I have done, but a new life born from that karma. It is up to you to find out how much this suits the environment. If a new life is born through karma built in the three ways (body, speech, and thoughts), then for that world to be such a complex, interdependent, ever-present, and ever-present world of life, a mental anguish such as spontaneous generation must also be added. But since it is uncertain where and how in spontaneous generation, there is further confusion. I dismiss this confused view as a belief woven from the roots based on the way humans behave in recent times.
Accoding to hinduism,
reincarnation means rebirth. In Hinduism, there is a concept of the soul that is constantly reborn and dies in a temporary body. They call this cycle of rebirth and death samsara. But in Buddhism, there is no concept of the soul and its essence lies in the doctrine of cause and effect. Gautama Buddha said that if someone sees the doctrine of cause and effect, he sees the Buddha. Reincarnation is the repeated occurrence of the existence that comes in the process of cause and effect. That is, it is a thought that arises and disappears in a moment (simple explanation). The process of socializing rebirth by suppressing the rebirth in Buddhism is done by the priestly class. Why do they do this? Buddhism cannot really be marketed. There is little that can be obtained by selling it. Because if people see the truth through the philosophy, they will go to the priestly class and disappear, and it will be difficult to maintain the religion. Society (underdeveloped society) also needs religion, so the religious monotheism will never allow the Buddha's philosophy to be raised.
People can only sell fantasy, not philosophy. People only want temporary happiness. So the priestly elite always promotes the Hindu concept of rebirth. It misleads people. If they see someone who says Buddha's philosophy, they say, "You have insulted Buddhism." That is what has really happened to society today (in Sri Lanka). So how do people know about the Buddha's philosophy of rebirth? These people attack wherever they see Buddha's philosophy.
Rebirth is not a matter of being born dead. People maintain the concept of self (according to Hinduism) because it gives them temporary happiness. Otherwise, it is not through discernment.
according to islam,
this worldly life is a trial. It is a very short life. Compared to the afterlife, this worldly life is a maximum of one year.
All people living in this world are tested by Allah in various ways. That test tests us in both forms of happiness and sadness. In each case, a test is carried out in this worldly life to see whether they live righteously or whether they turn to sinful things. The one who wins the test, that is, the one who lives righteously, will receive heaven after death, and the one who lives sinfully will receive hell after death. There is no end to life after death. That is, there is no death. They live forever.
As you know, when a person dies, that death is considered a worldly life in Islam. According to the merits and sins of that person after the worldly life, he will have a happy or a hellish life in that life. His soul will be in it until the end of time, according to what he has done and said.
In Christianity,
being born is fundamentally physical, but Jesus taught a crucial spiritual rebirth, called being "born again" or the "new birth," which is a transformative spiritual experience through the Holy Spirit and faith in Jesus, making one a child of God and part of His kingdom, distinct from physical birth. This new birth grants eternal life and spiritual renewal, contrasting with the spiritual separation from God caused by sin.
What does it mean to be a born again Christian?
The classic passage from the Bible that answers this question is John 3:1–21. The Lord Jesus Christ is talking to Nicodemus, a prominent Pharisee and member of the Sanhedrin (the ruling body of the Jews). Nicodemus had come to Jesus at night with some questions.
As Jesus talked with Nicodemus, He said, “‘I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.’ ‘How can a man be born when he is old?’ Nicodemus asked. ‘Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb to be born!’ Jesus answered, ‘I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, “You must be born again”’” (John 3:3–7).
The phrase translated “born again” can also be translated as “born from above.” Nicodemus had a real need. He needed a change of his heart—a spiritual transformation that could only come from above. New birth, being born again, is an act of God whereby eternal life is imparted to the person who believes (2 Corinthians 5:17; Titus 3:5; 1 Peter 1:3; 1 John 2:29; 3:9; 4:7; 5:1–4, 18). John 1:12–13 indicates that being “born again” also carries the idea of becoming “children of God” through trust in the name of Jesus Christ.
The question logically comes, “Why does a person need to be born again?” The apostle Paul in Ephesians 2:1 says, “And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins” (NKJV). To the Romans he wrote, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). Sinners are spiritually “dead”; when they receive spiritual life through faith in Christ, the Bible likens it to a rebirth. Only those who are born again have their sins forgiven and have a relationship with God.
Twice in His conversation with Nicodemus, Jesus stressed the truth that one must be born again to enter the kingdom of God (John 3:3, 5). Being born once makes us children of Adam, and we share Adam’s corruption. We need a second birth—a spiritual birth—to make us children of God. We must be born again.
How does the new birth come to be? Ephesians 2:8–9 states, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.” When one is saved, he has been born again, spiritually renewed, and is now a child of God by right of that new birth. Faith in Jesus Christ, the One who paid the penalty of sin when He died on the cross, is the means by which one is born again. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation: the old has gone, the new has come!” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
If you have never trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior, will you consider the prompting of the Holy Spirit as He speaks to your heart? You need to be born again. Will you pray a prayer of repentance and faith and become a new creation in Christ today? “Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God” (John 1:12–13).
